About Us

History

Network of Afro-Swedes Social Democrats is a grassroots political organization focused on educating and empowering a new generation of Afro-Swedes voters, as well as creating a more robust and inclusive democracy. Through innovative digital campaigns, culturally relevant programs, and authentic voices, we shepherd the  Afro-Swedes community toward the full realization of its political power.

Since the foundation of Network of Afro-Swedes Social Democrats Stockholm in 2013, we’ve been at the forefront of political, cultural,  and digital trends for organizing and activating Afro-Swedes in Stockholm and Sweden in general. In the 2022 general elections, we engaged as many local Afro-Swedes organizations as possible.

Our estimate shows that we had a more than 50% increase in the number of Afro-Swedes who voted for the Social democratic party as compared to previous elections. Thanks to our grassroots mobilization and electoral education.
